Dr. Ingo Rauth
Ingo Rauth is a post-doctoral researcher at the Division of Innovation Engineering and Management’s Center for Business Innovation (CBI). He has been in the field of innovation and design research as well as consulting since 2010. As a noted facilitator he has been teaching design thinking at the d.school in Potsdam, HDK Göteborg, Chalmers University as well as in industry settings. In addition, Ingo lectures in course concerned with design and (project) management.
His research interest is focused on large organizations and their use of design as a way to innovate, applying management innovation and translation theory. The practical aim of his research is to support large public and private organizations in utilizing and managing design driven innovation approaches. As these are often difficult to translate and align these with internal strategies, structures and operations, his main focus is on implementation.
Ingo’s background includes seven years of experience as a design consultant concerned with innovation projects of major companies such as Nokia, Philips and Steelcase. This experience led to his current interest in innovation management research and its practical implications.
In 2003 he launched his first nonprofit, precore.net. With the help of a team of volunteers, the organization supports teenagers, interested in design, to get started with their education and career. Until today the self-financed organization helped more than 14.000 of them to find their way.
